Tennis Without Borders
The first initiative of the Svitolina Foundation was aimed at helping those whose lives were turned upside down on February 24, 2022. "After that day, it was hard for me to focus on my game," recalls Elina Svitolina, "I kept thinking about how I could help. The foundation launched the Tennis Without Borders program to support young Ukrainian tennis players who were forced to travel abroad and lost the opportunity to train.
The program lasted for six months, during which time girls and boys aged 10 to 20 who had adapted to life in other countries were under the complete care of the foundation, which paid for their accommodation, meals, and training and provided them with the necessary equipment.
The athletes trained at tennis academies and centers in France, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland. In particular, in such famous institutions as Elite Tennis Center, All In Tennis Academy, Paris RG (France), Piatti Tennis Center (Italy), TC Empire (Slovakia), and others.
Overall, the program covered 90 Ukrainians — child athletes and their families.
