Elina Svitolina joins #TOGETHERBAND to raise funds and awareness for Ukraine
AUGUST 2023. On Ukraine Independence Day – 24th August – Wimbledon superstar Elina Svitolina will join the #TOGETHERBAND Campaign from British Regenerative fashion brand BOTTLETOP as an Ambassador for the special edition #TOGETHERBAND for Ukraine.
The war in Ukraine is still causing a steep rise in humanitarian needs as essential supplies and services are disrupted, and civilians continue to flee the war.
Since launching #TOGETHERBAND on Earth Day 2019, our mission has been to stand on the side of those whose voice is not heard.
#TOGETHERBAND is a non-profit campaign in partnership with the UN Foundation working to engage the world in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and inspire people to support their delivery. The Goals are humanity’s road map to a healthy planet – from peaceful societies and clean energy to protecting biodiversity and fighting climate change.
#TOGETHERBAND is proudly donating 100% of proceeds from the sales of #TOGETHERBAND for Ukraine to CARE International and the Elina Svitolina Foundation.
“I believe that there is power in social media, and we MUST bring the conversation back to the people of Ukraine – we must continue to fight for them. For the sake of the life of every Ukrainian, please do not stop talking, do not stop doing and do not stop helping. We, just like our soldiers, must fight every day because the war is not over. For the Ukrainian sun to rise, we must defeat the darkness together.” – Elina Svitolina.
Wimbledon superstar Elina Svitolina continues to be a hero on and off the tennis court. Since Russia’s invasion, the Ukrainian Native has been using her platform to raise awareness and funds for her war-torn country, donating prize money to needy families and redirecting funds from her foundation.
The Elina Svitolina Foundation supports young tennis talents across Ukraine. Besides offering mental health programs, the foundation also organises tennis tournaments, supports the construction of tennis facilities that have been destroyed, and provides accommodation, food and training for athletes who have been displaced.
CARE International works worldwide to save lives, fight poverty and help women and girls fulfil their potential. In response to the war in Ukraine, they have set up an Emergency Appeal to provide food, water, hygiene kits, cash and well-being support to people in Ukraine affected by the crisis.
For our #TOGETHER FOR UKRAINE band, we combined the blue rope of Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institution’s band with a yellow clasp to represent the Ukrainian flag.
