Participants of the final tournament of the Svitolina & Stakhovskyi Tennis Tour U14 by Nova Post will receive UAH 725 000 in grant assistance
In July, the Elina Svitolina Foundation announced the launch of an annual series of tournaments for young Ukrainian tennis players under the age of 14. The aim of the Svitolina & Stakhovskyi Tennis Tour U14 by Nova Post initiative is to support talented athletes in times of war when they face difficulties in training and participating in competitions.
From July to November this year, four qualifying tournaments were held as planned in different cities of Ukraine. They allowed us to identify the eight strongest boys and girls in this age group - representatives of the next generation of Ukrainian tennis players who will soon play on the international tennis scene.
These participants will compete for the title at the final tournament of the Svitolina & Stakhovskyi Tennis Tour U14 by Nova Post 2023, which will take place on November 7-11 this year at the modern Marina Tennis Club near Kyiv. The founder of the foundation, Ukraine's best tennis player Elina Svitolina, will attend the tournament to support the young athletes at the most crucial moment.
"This is a special event for me," she said, "The Foundation has been in existence since 2019, and one of its main goals is to support talented tennis players. But now our programs and initiatives are taking on a new meaning. We are trying to do what we can to ensure that talented children do not lose the opportunity to grow and do not give up their dreams of a sports career. War is not the best time to develop sports, but we also need to think about future victories in sports arenas.
